Elliot's 21st Birthday: Lifestyle Portraits

You've seen him on the blog before. His name is Elliot, he's a great friend of mine, and he's turning 21 on December 10! He's going all out! He's getting a party bus, photographer (not me, because I'm enjoying the party), and everyone's dressing up like they're going to an award show! It's going to be so much fun!






We had a photo shoot yesterday for his birthday party promos and it was a successful one! The location was PERFECT! It was cold, but he was a trooper! The parking garage at my friend's apartment is grungy and it worked so well!

Right when Elliot told me he wanted pictures for his birthday, I developed a theme instantly! The pictures are themed as the day after a crazy & wild party night! I tried to imagine what it would be like to have things trashed and random things just laying around. He grabbed random things and we just laid them all around the scenery! I hope everyone enjoys the pictures! It was such a fun photo shoot!

Personal Work

Not very often do I get the chance to work on my personal art work, but schooling helps me with that! My final for my digital photography class is coming up and the theme is "Modified Urban Landscapes." It's very specific and broad at the same time and it's been difficult for me to get inspired by the project.


I finally came up with a concept and it has evolved since then. This image is the first of the series! The background image is not mine, but the building is. Enjoy!

Malechi

He's almost 2 months old! I went over to visit my niece and nephews today and I got a chance to take some quick snapshots of Malechi. He's absolutely adorable! Enjoy!

Larissa + Kurt | Beautiful Couple | Grand Rapids

Kurt is leaving for the Marines on Monday and my dear friend Larissa wanted some pictures of her and her boyfriend before his departure. I definitely wanted to help her out, so we met up downtown and had a great session! What a beautiful day it turned out to be!

Jenny + Nate | Post Family Farm

The day started out kind of scary for me. As Brandon and I were leaving for the wedding, it started down pouring! This was my first wedding with rain! EEK! Luckily, the couple is very down to earth and their family was fun and energetic; nice people. Nothing was going to stop them from having a great wedding! After the ceremony, the weather cleared up and we took some pictures outside; those are still to come! Congratulations Jen and Nate! I hope you enjoy the photos!

Oliver, Senior Pictures

Oliver and I had a great time taking his senior pictures earlier today! We drove and walked around downtown Grand Rapids and after dinner, we drove to East Grand Rapids for a few more shots! He's such a goof ball, which made it all the better! Enjoy!

Elliot, Graduation Pictures

My friend Elliot will be graduating from the Aveda Institute of Cosmetology next month and needed graduation pictures (kind of like senior pictures, but for graduating!) for his open house! Such a neat idea! On Thursday night, I met up with him at his school and we had a photoshoot right in the school! It was a great backdrop for pictures! Enjoy!

Keo + Carlos = Kalamazoo Wedding

This past weekend, I was able to photographed my cousin's beautiful wedding day! What a hot day! I didn't know what to expect because I've never seen any of the locations, but it was a great wedding! The day started with a traditional Laos ceremony, followed my an outdoor American wedding and reception! It was fun! My best friend Brandon helped me second shoot this wedding. Thank you so much Brandon! I truly appreciate your help! We will definitely do it again! We met two of Keo's good friends, Dimple and Olivia! They made the day so much fun! All in all, it was a beautiful day for a beautiful wedding! Congratulations Keo & Carlos! I hope you two like the wedding pictures!
